PROLIFIC SHOPLIFTER ARRESTED IN RICHMOND
Officers patrolling Richmond town centre this evening (sat) have arrested a suspected male shoplifter who has been sought by police for the last week after failing to appear at court and who is suspected of numerous theft offences in the Richmond area.
The officers were patrolling the area as part of Operation Nightingale, where officers are tasked to patrol identified crime areas during offending times. This compliments the Richmond Safer Space, which will ensure a police presence in the town centre this evening.
The male was arrested for two incidents of shoplifting and for failing to appear in court three times and going equipped to steal and going equipped to steal.
They were taken into custody and will appear before court on Monday morning.
