ADOPT A SEAT IN LANDMARK ARTS CENTRE UPGRADE

More comfortable seating with clearer views of the stage and upgraded flooring

Keen supporters of Teddington’s Landmark Arts Centre can name their own seat as part of the fund-raising campaign for the auditorium refit.

The centre is closed for evening events until the end of January while 146 more comfortable and retractable seats are installed with better views of the stage and upgraded flooring.

The toilets at the rear of the centre are also being refurbished thanks to a grant from the local council community fund and the church pulpit has to be moved to allow clearer views for audiences.

A spokesperson said: “What’s Your Landmark Moment? Whether it’s a wedding, anniversary, new arrival or tribute to someone special, by naming a seat, every visit to the Landmark becomes a reminder of life’s cherished moments.”

The donation price for a single seat is £250 or £400 to name a pair of seats. Other donations not involving seat-naming are also possible.

“We plan to enhance the Landmark with more comfortable seating with clearer stage views, improved flooring, and relocating the pulpit.

“Your support will help us clear the final financial hurdle to create a more accessible, flexible venue for all our events and activities.”

In the original fund-raising appeal the Landmark stated: “Over the past two years, we have raised £145,000 of funding from grants to install retractable seating and new wood-effect flooring to the Landmark.

“The retractable seating will further improve the acoustics, creating a more comfortable and flexible space – perfect for sold-out exhibitions or more intimate gigs.”
