LATEST ON TED LASSO – SEASON FOUR AND LAUNCH OF RICHMOND’S WOMEN’S TEAM

Season 4 of Ted Lasso will reportedly begin filming in May or June of 2025, according to new well-sourced TV social media posts.
One unconfirmed magazine report even suggests Jason Sudeikis may not appear as his creation as Ted Lasso but will be involved in the writing.
Speculation regarding a return for the award-winning production has been rife since the autumn of 2024 when three leading members of the cast and crew were on board and signed up to Apple TV.
There have been regular hints since then that work is underway to bring AFC Richmond back to the small screen.
According to Sigmund Judge of the ‘Magic Rays of Light’ podcast, with the programme taking a ‘different direction’ about ‘with focus shifting at AFC Richmond to the formation of its women’s team.’
Judge went on to say of plans supposedly being drawn up for THREE more seasons of Ted Lasso ‘Pre-production is in full swing. The original agreement was a three season order, which I believe has been repeated. I’d think it’s safe to assume that the writing rooms have been secretly busy for some time.”
The possibility of a women’s team being formed was raised some time ago, with characters Keeley Jones and Rebecca Welton ready to lead that project. Plenty of familiar faces in the men’s game will, however, be back for Season 4 and beyond, it is suggested
Here are the social media posts from TV and broadcaster Sigmund Judge:
EXCLUSIVE: London filming for #TedLasso S4 is now set to begin in May/June with focus shifting at AFC Richmond to the formation of its women’s team.
Pre-production is in full swing. The original agreement was a three season order, which I believe has been repeated. I’d think it’s safe to assume that the writing rooms have been secretly busy for some time.
After an emotional (and, let’s be honest, uneven) third season that fumbled its way to the finish line, Ted Lasso is apparently coming back for a fourth round—
Previous reports say that Warner Bros. has already picked up contract options for key cast members like Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein and Jeremy Swift.
But a magazine says ‘Jason Sudeikis, however, has made it pretty clear he’s not interested in coming back—though let’s not pretend Apple wouldn’t throw a truckload of cash at him for a nostalgic cameo.”
The series was filmed in and around Richmond as well as West London Film studios and has given Richmonds a massive tourist boost with an official merchandise shop and guided tours of key filming locations around the Green.
