OPERATION LIFT OFF – Photo Special
Today is the day the lifts at Teddington railway station finally opened.
Network Rail will closely monitor the two lifts over the next two weeks before organising a formal opening ceremony with those involved in the £3.6m project and championing it locally.
Mike Woods, Leader of Teddington Society Roads and Transport Group said: “On behalf of the Teddington Society, we are delighted that the lifts are now in operation.
“The Teddington Society has campaigned for many years to get this improvement which will benefit all Teddington residents and visitors alike.
“Our previous Transport Group leader, Brian Holder, relentlessly led this campaign and I speak on behalf of the Society in acknowledging the great debt we owe to Brian.”
