Teddington’s favourite riverside cafe, The Flying Cloud, overlooking the river, reopens for business this Saturday morning.

And the first TEN customers will be rewarded with a FREE cup of coffee to mark the grand opening of the cafe in Ferry Road.

The decking and the yard have undergone a big clean and repaint and the multi-coloured chairs are awaiting their first customers.

There are also some appetising additions  to the Flying Cloud’s historic offerings with a breakfast granola option, which may appeal to early dog walkers and cyclists.

There’s also a return for the popular weekday lunch deal with a bap and a cake of your choice and a hot or cold drink between 12-2pm weekdays.

The granary or white baps come with a choice of filling from ham,  cheese, tuna & mayonnaise, egg & mayonnaise with a choice of salad.

The irresistible array of cakes includes Victoria sponge, coffee cake, apple drizzle, lemon drizzle, gluten free orange polenta cake to name of few plus a vegan chocolate orange cake.

And the Return of The Scones with clotted cream and jam!

The Flying Cloud’s opening times will be  7.30-5.30 everyday (weather depending) from this Saturday, March 15.

Last summer business was disrupted because of the continuing repair works on the footbridges, which have now been completed and offer easy access to the cafe.

The cafe was first launched in 2011 and hit international headlines when a minke whale be one stranded in the river nearby and attracted the world’s media.

Excited owner Justine Broome told Teddington Town: “We are raring to go and just hoping for a decent spell of weather to give us a flying start.

“We are really looking forward to seeing many of our familiar faces as well as new customers who discover us for the first time.”
