TEDDINGTON’S LION PUB – SET TO ROAR AGAIN…

The popular Lion pub in Wick Road in Teddington which has been closed for over two years is set to reopen after a successful sale for £950.000 plus VAT, Teddington Town can exclusively reveal.
At this stage it is not known who has bought the pub and when it will reopen.
The pub, which has four bedrooms available as accommodation, has a main bar at the front of the pub, with a larger area at the back and a lounge/restaurant which can seat 120 people and has a large garden with wooden tables with space for another 100 customers.
The estimated turnover historically was over £600.000.
The pub, which dates back to 1876, was owned and operated by Stonegate Pub Partners, which was also responsible for the marketing and the eventual sale of The Builders Arms in Field Lane which was sold to a local businessman for £800.000 and finally reopened last November and where business is booming.
Hopes rose at the end of last year when the owners of the Rising Sun in Isleworth had publicly expressed their interest in acquiring The Lion and asked potential customers on Facebook whether a Thai menu would be popular locally.
Many of the responses were negative and expressed a preference for traditional menus, which made the pub was well-known for.

On the Stonegate Group website the pub is described in the following way:
