“We are very sad to share that Rizz has died this morning.
“Rizz died with the taste of polos in his mouth and the voice of someone that truly loves him telling him how loved he is in his ear.
“He was in the field with his friends with the birds singing and blossom on the trees.
“Thank you to everyone that has been so supportive and kind.
“Claudine from Shotter & Byers Equine Veterinary Services has been exceptional in her care and treated him as if he was her own.
”Sleep easy Rizz, we were lucky to know you.
“Thank you for the huge impact you made on so many lives.”

Unfortunately, we have to share some sad, bad news. We do not want to make people upset but we do want to be transparent.
“Yesterday our vet called with the results of the histology.
“This means they had checked the cells in the tumour. Sadly it was not the news we were hoping for and Rizz has lymphoma which is a type of cancer.
“We are all completely devastated for our precious boy.
“Rizz is our very own Black Beauty, so kind, versatile and patient.
“His favourite human, one of our Pony Clubbers came to see him today and they spent some precious time together.
“Our wonderful kind vet will take the stitches out on Thursday and then Nat will take him to the field.
“Rizz can hang out with one of his gentle pals and enjoy the grass.
“The spring grass is fighting its way through and this is the best thing a horse can possibly have.
“We are not sure how long this will be for as we do not want him to have any distress or pain.
“It is our duty as his human guardians to give him the best possible ending to his life and that is what we will do.
“Do ask us any questions you may have as there are no secrets here.
“Until Thursday Rizz will be hanging out in the garden, sunning himself. Do pass by if you want to and let him know how loved he is.
“Thank you everyone for your kindness and support for this gorgeous boy.”
