PROLIFIC SHOPLIFTER ARRESTED IN TEDDINGTON
Police revealed today they had arrested a ‘prolific shoplifter’ in Teddington.
Dean Hamblin, 42, was subject to a criminal behaviour order banning him from being in the London Borough of Richmond, according to police.
They said: “He has a criminal behaviour order not to be in the London borough of Richmond as a result of his offending history.
“One of our PCSOs spotted him whilst off duty in Teddington. We went to a location he was believed to be at and found him there and arrested him.”
Local retailers have repeatedly expressed their concerns over the increasing level of shoplifting in Teddington’s Broad Street and High Street and CCTV cameras have even been discussed.
The police added: “Shoplifting is a crime that can have a substantial negative impact on local businesses across London.
“If you notice anything suspicious or witness anyone shoplifting, please report it as soon as possible.
“These reports are invaluable in letting us build a picture of when and where shoplifters operate, meaning we can be in the right place at the right time to arrest those responsible.”
