FIVE QUINS WOMEN’S PLAYERS LINED UP FOR RED ROSES WORLD CUP
Five Harlequins Women’s players have been named in the Red Roses Women’s Rugby World Cup training squad that will begin preparations for the tournament this week.
Ellie Kildunne, Lucy Packer, Connie Powell, Lizzie Hanlon and Sarah Parry have all been included by Head Coach John Mitchell.
Forty two players have been named in the training squad, including two Under-20 players.
The squad, comprising of 23 forwards and 19 backs, assembled at Hazelwood today for the first training camp of the summer.
Thirty-four of the 42 featured during England’s successful Grand Slam-winning 2025 Guinness Women’s Six Nations with a further seven aiding the team’s preparations.
Quins players Jade Konkel, Sarah Bonar and Coreen Grant have all been named in the Scotland Women’s extended training squad for the Rugby World Cup.
Club captain Konkel started in the second-row alongside Bonar for Scotland in their final Six Nations game of the tournament, as they secured victory over Ireland, whilst Grant returns to the squad, having missed the 2025 tournament through injury.
The extended squad will meet as part of Scotland’s initial World Cup preparations, with the final squad for the tournament due to be named in the coming months.
Five Harlequins have been named in the Welsh extended 45-player training squad for this summer, ahead of the tour to Australia and the Rugby World Cup.
Abbie Fleming, Alex Callender, Carys Phillips, Kayleigh Powell and Lisa Neumann have all been named in the squad that will assemble this week.
