FUNDRAISING 10k RUN FOR CROSSROADS CARE

A team of seven people will step up for the Turks Head 10k challenge this Sunday to raise funds for the local charity Crossroads Care.
Each of the runners has their own personal backstory of what is inspiring them to take part and support the charity.
Among them is Tristan, running in honour of his eight-year-old daughter, Imogen, who lives with Canavan disease, a rare and devastating condition that affects the brain’s white matter.
Imogen is tube-fed and depends entirely on her parents for her needs.
Also running are Holly Crosswaite, Crossroads’ dedicated Peer Support Worker, and her mum Sophie, along with charity trustee Debbie Ramsay, her husband John, as well as their daughter, Laura.
One of Crossroads’ new clients, also called John, who cares for his wife living with Multiple Sclerosis, completes the team.
Together, they are supporting Crossroads Care’s mission to provide vital services for unpaid carers and their families often facing isolation, hardship and hidden challenges.
With just a few days to go, training is well underway, and spirits are high.

Sunday 8th June 2025. The run kicks off at 10am near the swings in Marble Hill Park, Riverside.
It’s more than just a race though — there’s live music, a BBQ and great community spirit too.
