LEGO-mad Ho Yin Lou, from Twickenham shows off his brilliant brick creation
Two lifelong LEGO fans and local residents are hosting a special event in Twickenham this autumn to celebrate the joy of building with bricks.
The family-friendly day will take place at St Mary’s University, Twickenham, on Sunday 24th October from 10am to 4pm.
LEGO has played an important role in their lives, not just as a creative outlet but also as a way of supporting focus and relaxation.
They’ve seen how building can help children – including those with neurodiversity – practise concentration and enjoy a calming activity.
A highlight of the event will be a huge Star Wars-themed display built over a period of 30 days by 10-year-old local resident Ho Yin Lou, from Twickenham.
Over the summer holidays, Ho Yin dedicated hours to creating his one-of-a-kind build without using a manual and estimated to include over 80.000 pieces of LEGO.
His display includes multiple starships, detailed landscapes, and battle scenes filled with countless minifigures – an impressive achievement for such a young builder.
The event is open to all ages and will feature brick-building stations, rare retired LEGO sets, bouncy castles, face painting, entertainers, and unique LEGO MOC creations.
A quieter session will run from 2pm to 4pm to provide a more comfortable experience for children with special educational needs and disabilities, along with their families.
