Well-known local photographer Cathy Cooper stumbled across an easy way to cool down in the scorching heat in Twickenham today.

A burst water pipe outside of Twickenham Nails in Heath Road provided a spontaneous ‘fountain’ to offer respite from the heat.

Cathy, whose stunning images of Bushy Park are famous locally, said: “While I was eating my ice cream earlier, there was suddenly a big spout of water coming out of the pavement across the road.
“Staff and customers from Twickenham Nails were stuck inside until the Fire Brigade turned up.
“It was a great way to cool off though and I had to have a go!
