POLICE HELICOPTER CALLED IN TO SUPPORT TEDDINGTON RNLI CREW IN RESCUE EFFORTS
STATEMENT FROM TEDDINGTON RNLI VOLUNTEER CREW
A helicopter was drafted into support Teddington’s RNLI team during THREE separate emergencies last night (Monday)
The helicopter could be seen hovering over the Teddington Lock and at one stage flying backwards in an order to locate a missing person.
The RNLI statement said; “Three shouts on a Monday night…
“During a training session at the lifeboat station yesterday evening volunteer crew were paged to help locate a person in the water by Teddington Lock.
“Once this was safely resolved alongside Metropolitan Police the D class lifeboat named Peter Saw returned to the lifeboat station but was immediately re-tasked to assist with an incident near Molesley lock.
“On their passage home, the crew were once more asked by HMCoastguard to assist with an incident this time at Kingston Bridge.
“The boat eventually returned to the Lifeboat station at approximately 1030 pm to be met by the shore crew with cold drinks and biscuits.”
