TEDDINGTON’S NEW BUTCHERS WILL BE CALLED FREDERICK’S

The much-anticipated new butchers in Teddington’s High Street will be called FREDERICK’S and is planning to open before Christmas, Teddington Town can exclusively reveal.
The prospect has created significant excitement in the local community especially after the sudden closure of The Teddington Butcher (formerly Millers Family Butchers) in Waldegrave Road in November 2024. The business remains up for sale.
Owner, Ben Phillips, who owns Cafe Benedict and Parsnips Cafe (named after the family dog) and a deli next to the butchers is confident the Teddington community will respond positively to an independent butchers despite the presence of supermarkets, Tesco and Sainsbury’s and Marks and Spencer.
Frederick’s – named after Ben’s 17 year old son – will be open everyday and source its meat from the renowned supplier W.H. Walter in Barons Court, which stocks lamb from Launceston in Cornwall and grass-fed beef from native breeds like Aberdeen Angus and Hereford and pork from Hampshire.
Ben told Teddington Town: “We will have better quality meat, better origin of meat, a wide range of marinades for kebabs and BBQ’s and of course the best turkeys for Christmas. We are really excited and looking forward to bring back a traditional business like a butchers to the centre of Teddington.”

Ben added; “We will be stocking the highest quality meat and poultry you can and offering great value as well as tips on how best to cook specific cuts of meat.”
The aim now is for Ben and his dedicated team is to strip out the former spa nails salon and install fridges and focus on a pre-Xmas opening date to exploit the massive seasonal demand for turkeys.
