DANGEROUS ENCOUNTERS WITH STAG IN RICHMOND PARK
These are more shocking photos showing an unidentified man in Richmond Park feeding a fully grown stag and then being forced to defend himself with a flimsy branch.
The man who appears to be having a picnic under a tree in the park is seen offering food to the deer, who is just inches away from with his antlers almost touching him.
While the stag lingers and refuses to move away the man finds a broken branch and tries to push him towards the stream.
Freya Reid, who filmed the encounter, said on social media: “It clearly states everywhere in Richmond park DO NOT FEED THE DEER… these Stags and deer are wild animals yet people think its a clever idea to feed them to get a photo whilst sitting down, instead of removing plastic bags and food from sight and slowly moving away……”
Freya told Teddington Town: “We saw the deer coming for at least 10 minutes, we crossed over the river after putting all the picnic away in our bags, because I had my autistic son with me I put his wrist strap on, I then shouted across to the man better put away your picnic and plastic bags the stag is coming, his family swiftly moved away while he sat there ignoring me.
“I must have said over 20 times move the plastic. He sat there feeding the wild animal strawberries while taking photos then got himself stuck there while the stag ate a plastic bag.
“We saw more deer come on our side of the river so we moved back over the other side and the kids climbed the tree while I kept shouting please move the plastic he ignored me further!
It’s infuriating to watch. Even his family was telling him to move away.”
