TEDDINGTON ARTISTS SHOWCASE THEIR WORK IN NEW EXHIBITION

Eighteen talented artists will be exhibiting their works at the old Lloyds Bank building, Teddington, which has been reimagined by Awesome Studios.

The studios will be transformed into a superb gallery and studio space featuring painting.  drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture,  stone carving, jewellery, collage, mixed media and textiles.

Teddington Artists are a lively group of professional artists who live and work in the local area.

They meet regularly to exchange ideas, provide artistic support and promote a high quality of work.

The main focus of their year is the Art Fair  which has been held in many local venues in the area: Bushy House in Bushy Park, The Atrium at The National Physical Laboratory, Hampton House School, the Victorian theatre at Normansfield Hospital, Strawberry Hill House and most recently at the Awesome Studios, Teddington.

The group was founded in 1990 by the noted botanical artist Ann Swan and over this period many celebrated artists have exhibited their work.

Teddington Artists strive to show a wide degree of diversity in both their media and styles.

They say: “ We have always adopted the policy of remaining a small, intimate group of like-minded artists and so membership is limited to about a dozen.

“At present, we are not looking for new members. When vacancies do arise we usually look to artists who have exhibited with us as Invited Artists at our annual shows (see below).

One of this year’s artists in Conor O’Neill who specialises in dramatic seascapes but has recently depicted some of the devastation scenes in war-torn Gaza.

Conor told Teddington Town: “I’m delighted to be selected as one of the artists at the Teddington Artists Fair.

“We are so fortunate to have such a wealth of talent and range of work on display. There is something for everyone and I hope some of my work will catch the eye of visitors.”

INVITED ARTISTS:

“Each year we ask a small number of carefully selected artists to join us as guests for our annual Art Fair.

“We always look for art which is of a high quality, professionally presented and which we believe will enhance and complement the work of our members.

“Ideally, Invited Artists will be local to or have a connection with Teddington.
