POLICE INVESTIGATE ALLEGED KIDNAP ATTEMPT
Police are investigating an incident near Richmond Green after a Muslim woman was seen apparently being ‘dragged’ into a vehicle by a group of men of Middle Eastern appearance, it emerged tonight.
The police issued this full statement: “There was an incident earlier on Little Green whereby it was alleged a female was dragged into a vehicle.
“My colleague and I attended the location and a vehicle was circulated which was stopped in Surrey.
“After extensive enquiries by myself, it was found that this vehicle was NOT connected to the investigation.
“CID are aware and are carrying out enquiries as we speak.
“The information we have is fairly scarce at the moment.
“The only information we have is that the victim was a female, Muslim, approx 35 years of age, light build, wearing a white head scarf and black clothing.
“The information is that she was being dragged by a number of Middle Eastern males, approx 50 years of age wearing dark clothing and they appeared to have ‘walkies talkies’ with them.
“If you live near to Richmond Theatre/Portland Terrace, Little Green and have any footage or saw anything suspicious, please call 101 quoting ref CAD 4183/26Aug26.”
