The Beach Gallery at Waldegrave Road, Teddington, is delighted to present a new thought-provoking exhibition called ‘UNDERCURRENTS – What Lies Beneath‘.
All are warmly invited to the UNDERCURRENTS Private View, commencing at 6:30pm – 9:00pm Thursday 10 September 2026.
The ‘UNDERCURRENTS’ exhibition will be on until 31 OCTOBER 2026. Open Monday – Saturday 10am – 1pm.
UNDERCURRENTS is a collaborative exhibition that takes a closer look at mental health, wellbeing, support and the things we carry beneath the surface.
It provides an immersive experience, produced by artist Susan Bunn @susanbunnartist / www.susanbunn.co.uk – inspired by her experience of caring for her mother.
UNDERCURRENTS also features the work of embroidery designer Karen Nicol www.karennicol.com – responding to Susan’s paintings through 3D textile works, and the words of poet Anas Hassan – responding to images, words and phases gathered throughout the exhibition process.
Through painting, sensory environments, words and audience participation, the UNDERCURRENTS explores the hidden emotional landscapes beneath the composed face we present to the world.
Visitors are invited to pause, reflect, connect and share their own experiences of worry, resilience, care giving, hope and transformation.
