THAMES SEWAGE PUMP CAMPAIGNERS LAUNCH ONE LAST PUSH FOR PETITION
The SOLAR (Save our Lands and River) group against the Thames Sewage Pump is launching another public campaign to boost the number of signatures for the petition by inviting people to a ‘Song for the River’ day on Sunday October 18.
The aim is for 100.000 signatures but so far there just under half of that and the petition closes on November 1 so one last burst is required to ensure the petition has to considered by the House of Commons.
The petition states: “We urge the government to review the regulations for new sewage treatment infrastructure and introduce new legislation to ensure high international standards are met; to safeguard people’s health, better protect all water bodies and reduce damaging long term impacts.”
