KINGSTON MARKET IS BACK IN BUSINESS

Parts of the fire-wrecked Kingston Market have reopened
A spokesperson for Kingston Council said: “We’re really pleased to share that Kingston Market has started to reopen following the fire.
“The clearance and demolition work, alongside deep cleaning of the whole market site, has now been completed and we’ve been working hard with market operator Between the Bridges to get it up and running again.
“For some traders, reopening will take a bit longer.
“We understand how difficult this is and we’re working to support them, but the safety of everyone who uses the market is our priority so we cannot rush the recovery.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back.”
Leader of Kingston Council Andreas Kirsch said: “We know how much the Ancient market means to the local community and we’d like to thank everyone for their overwhelming support.
