NEW LIFE STORIES FEATURES FASCINATING PEOPLE FROM TEDDINGTON AND HAMPTON WICK

A new edition of the popular local “Life Stories” series has just been published, telling more amazing stories of people who’ve lived in our community for nearly 100 years.
“Life Stories Volume 2” features Pamela Bryant, now 98, who helped saved the Teddington Memorial Hospital from closure in the 1980s.
Local historian and author Ken Howe recalls watching the Rolling Stones in one of their very first gigs in the early 1960’s.
The new edition also features Bushy Park’s most famous photographer Sue Lindenberg, aged 80 whose stunning photos have brought so much joy to so many local people and she has been so generous to share for free.
Jimmy, now 96, tells of his time in the Royal Navy as Lieutenant Commander on the same ship as Winston Churchill and Lord Mountbatten.
There are many other stories about life in our community stretching back decades.
More than 5,000 copies will be delivered free to households in Teddington and Hampton Wick, and is also available in local libraries.
Editor Phil Wardman said: “Life Stories Volume One was a huge success, it brought together old friends who recognised people, places and memories from years gone by.
“Volume Two has many more remarkable local stories told in the contributors’ own words. It’s vital we capture these stories, it’s a living history”.
Life Stories Volume Two is published by the Teddington & Hampton Wick Voluntary Care Group charity which helps around 300 local elderly and those with difficulty getting out, by doing errands, shopping and organising outings. The group is completely funded by donations.
