OPEN DAY FOR QUESTIONS ABOUT TEDDINGTON FOOTBRIDGE CLOSURES TODAY
The first of two public consultations about the work on replacing the Teddington footbridge ramp in Ferry Road was taking place on site today (wed)/
A representative was available to answer questions about the first full closures which take place from Friday 14th June from 8pm on Friday night until 6am on Monday 17th June.
The work will be taking place throughout the night over the weekend with ” lots of activity and some unavoidable noisy works during the day and night.”
Detailed diagrams of the work were available showing the enormous scale of the works which is expected to last until the end of October with another full closure expected in September depending on the progress of the work.
Maps also showed alternative routes for cyclists and dog walkers during the closures.
The official explained that the wooden pillars supporting the Bridge were ‘rotten’ and the steel girders underneath the bridge were ‘badly corroded’ but because the bridge is ‘listed’ it must retain the style of the traditional structure.
