EXCLUSIVE: SUMMER SHOCK CLOSURE FOR TEDDINGTON M&S

Seven week closure for M & S in Teddington
News will be formally announced this week

Teddington’s massively popular Marks & Spencer Foodhall in the High Street is closing down for seven weeks in the summer, Teddington Town has confirmed today.

The formal announcement will be made this week with posters and further detailed information inside and outside the store to help the store’s thousands of weekly and regular shoppers.

The unexpected closure will come as a massive blow to M&S shoppers but will allow a major ‘refurbishment’ and will take place between Monday 24th June and Thursday 22nd August – a period of just over seven weeks. (the reopening date could be flexible)

Teddington Town understands the refurbishment involves a ‘significant upgrade’ of the local M&S as it’s considered ‘old.’

The car park is also likely to be totally closed as the workmen will need to be based there as well as the equipment needed for the big job.

One sources told TT: “This refurb is really needed and we are sure our customers will be delighted with the result. We have a very loyal local customer base and we are sure they will return when we reopen. We are grateful for their support.”

The closure will give a boost to other local supermarkets like Sainsburys in High Street and Tesco in Broad Street as well as smaller independent businesses including those which sell newspapers.
