‘OUTSTANDING’ GCSE SUCCESS FOR TEDDINGTON SCHOOL
Teddington School today announced another year of exceptional GCSE results, ‘reflecting the hard work, resilience and ambition of students.’
Headteacher Paul Grills said: “We are immensely proud of the achievements of our students, who have worked tirelessly throughout their GCSE journey with us.
“Their dedication, perseverance and commitment to their learning have been rewarded with a fantastic set of results.
“These successes are the result of a true partnership between students, staff, and our community.
“We are incredibly grateful for the encouragement and support provided every step of the way, helping our young people to flourish and achieve their full potential.
“We are also delighted to be welcoming significant numbers of students into our oversubscribed Sixth Form, where they will continue to grow, succeed and pursue their ambitions.”
Results were strong across the school, with 21% of students achieving grades 8-9, 36% achieving grades 7-9, and 69% achieving grades 5-9.
Performance in the core subjects was particularly impressive. The Mathematics department achieved 85% of grades at 4 and above, with an outstanding 44% of students securing grades 7-9. In English, 84% of students achieved grades 4 and above, while 40% were awarded grades 7-9.
There were also excellent outcomes across a broad range of subjects.
In Science, 98% of Biology students, 96% of Chemistry students, and 95% of Physics students achieved grades 4 and above.
Within Languages and Humanities, 95% of French students and 82% of History students attained grades 4 and above.
The Arts continued to thrive, with 100% of students achieving grade 4 and above in Art and Design, Textiles, Dance and Drama, while 91% of Photography students achieved grade 4 and above.
Several subjects also celebrated particularly strong outcomes at the highest grades. 53% of Biology students, 51% of Chemistry students, 58% of French students and 59% of Physics students achieved grades 7-9.
Notably, 25% of Physics grades were awarded at grade 9, demonstrating exceptional achievement.
Head of Year 11, Fred Hole, commented: “I am incredibly proud of our Year 11 students and everything they have accomplished.
“Their positive attitude, determination and commitment to success have been evident throughout the year, whether in lessons, revision sessions or preparation for their examinations.
“These results are a wonderful reflection of their hard work and resilience, and they should take great pride in what they have achieved.
“I would also like to thank our dedicated staff and supportive families, whose guidance and encouragement have played such an important role in helping our students succeed.
“We are excited to see what the future holds for this talented cohort and are delighted to be welcoming record numbers back to our Sixth Form as they continue their educational journey with us at Teddington School.”
