INDIAN RESTAURANT CELEBRATES 45 YEARS

The Sheesh Mahal restaurant in Twickenham threw a party for 200 of its regular customers last night to mark its 45th anniversary.
The local Mayor Cllr. Nancy Baldwin joined founder Abdul Monaf, to mark the special milestone and enjoy the big celebration wwith food, drink and music.
Abdul was inspired by his mother’s cooking and many of its favourite dishes are based on recipes handed down through the generations.
Regular customer and Teddington Town Rob Allen reader writes: “The Sheesh Mahal restaurant in London Road Twickenham is one the areas most popular, go-to Indian restaurants in the area and has become something of a local landmark.
“Its founder Abdul Monaf established the restaurant in 1981 and has been serving customers ever since. To mark 45 years of success and to thank local customers, Monaf held a party, inviting over 200 long standing customers to an evening of food, drink and music on Wednesday 26th August.
“A seemingly never-ending buffet featuring the Sheesh Mahal’s signature dishes and refreshing handcrafted cocktails were served through the evening to the accompaniment of live classical Indian music. Richmond mayor Nancy Baldwin attended the event to help mark the occasion.
“The atmosphere was fun-filled and celebratory with friends of the Sheesh Mahal mixing and mingling together to swap stories and chat with restaurant staff.”
He added: “The Sheesh Mahal is a real family restaurant. Over the years we have got to know Monaf’s family and staff well. It is typical of Monaf’s regard for the community that he should throw a party like this to say ‘Thank You’ to the community who have supported him and to the staff who have worked with him over the years”.
“Here’s to many more years of the Sheesh Mahal serving the TW community!”
