SAILING CLUB SET TO INSTALL CCTV TO DETER THIEVES

The thieves who got away with an inflatable boat and two outboard engines worth about £3500 from Tamesis Sailing club used bolt cutters to free them from their concrete bases.
Club officials who discovered the broken remnants of the ‘chain locks’ now believe the culprits may have entered the boatyard from the river.
The 15 ft semi-rigid inflatable rib’ is called ‘Tammy Grey’ (Honwave 3.5) and the two outboards engines, one 15 horsepower and the other 5 horsepower both had propeller guards which is unusual.
One official said: “It’s a pity it’s come to this but we will have no choice but to seriously consider the installation of CCTV but hopefully our insurance will cover this.”
The police have been informed and have been contacted by Teddington Town.
