Teddington Tintype are based in the studio at the back of the fabulous Teddington Photographic and we are holding open portrait sessions a couple of times per month.
WHAT IS A TINTYPE?
A Tintype is a photograph made by the wet plate collodion process invented in 1851 that allows photographs to be captured in pure silver on an aluminium plate. We use vintage brass lenses and hand-built cameras in the studio and you will be taken through the whole process of coating the plate in light-sensitive materials, through to sitting for the portrait and developing the plate in our dark room. The end result is an amazing, utterly unique Tintype photograph for you or a loved one to cherish forever.
If you would like to book a 30-minute slot please either pop into Teddington Photographic and speak to us in person, or send us an email to info@teddingtontintype.co.uk
Tintypes start at £40 for a 5″x4″ plate and students get 25% discount!
