Beaujolais Nouveau

Beaujolais Nouveau

Fancy yourself a bit of an oenophile? Then you’ll probably already know that in November there is a pretty big day in the wine world. That’s because the third Thursday of November (21st) is Beaujolais Nouveau Day, i.e. the first day on which this year’s bottles of the good stuff are allowed to be sold. A gamay grape wine from the Beaujolais district of Burgundy, Beaujolais Nouveau is one of the few varieties of vino that’s sold during the same year in which it’s produced.

Made by one of our producers Patrice Chevrier based in Brouilly. Harvest is made by hand, which guarantees a better selection, the grapes are not crushed to release the juice but placed in a tank to macerate whilst the juice is still in the grapes. This wine-making process results a bright ruby colour, very fruity, with wild raspberry and red current aromas with just a hint of warm earth. Soft and ripe, with nice freshness and very gentle tannins.

Book Now so not to miss out!
