Following on from the success of the previous Open House events, the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) in Teddington will once again be opening its doors to the public. On Tuesday 17 May 2016 from 2 pm until 8 pm, NPL will have a variety of laboratories open, as well as a programme of talks and lots of interactive outreach activities on offer.

Whether you have visited NPL numerous times, or not at all, this is a great opportunity to find out what goes on inside our laboratories. The breadth and variety of activities we are involved with will astound you.

NPL is the UK’s National Measurement Institute. For more than a century, NPL has developed and maintained the nation’s primary measurement standards, acting as the UK’s home for the kilogram, metre and second.

NPL’s measurements help to save lives, protect the environment, enable citizens to feel safe and secure, as well as supporting international trade and innovation. At our event you’ll have the chance to learn exactly how our cutting-edge research impacts the real-world.
Come along, meet our scientists and prepare to be amazed!

All are welcome to come to our Open House, but you must pre-register at www.npl.co.uk/openhouse
