St Stephens School Parents London to Brugge Cycle Challenge
Hi there,
I attended this earlier today and it was such a magical event for the St Stephens School community. I would love for you to be able to cover this event to help them get some exposure and reach their fundraising target. I work for The Purple Elephant Project is one of the charities the riders have chosen to support.
Thanks so much
Nina

St Margarets Parents Pedal 200 Miles for Local Causes
This morning, 33 parents from St Stephen’s CofE Primary School in St Margarets set off on an epic 200-mile charity bike ride to raise funds for five much-loved local and international causes.
The two-day cycling challenge will support:
-
FOSS (Friends of St Stephen’s) – the school’s PTA, funding enrichment and resources for pupils;
-
The Purple Elephant Project – a Twickenham-based children’s mental health charity providing a compassionate safe space for local children and their families to navigate emotional challenges.
-
Richmond Young Carers – offering vital information, advice and support for carers aged over 18 across the London Borough of Richmond;
-
Moormead Pavilion – a community-led campaign to create a much-needed new pavilion at Moormead Recreation Ground, the heart of the St Margarets community;
-
The Flying Seagull Project – a charity using trained clowns, musicians and entertainers to create safe, joyful spaces for play and laughter in some of the world’s most challenging situations, both in the UK and internationally.
The riders received a rousing send-off from the school playground, with crowds of cheering children, staff and families. The Mayor of Richmond, Councillor Penny Frost, was there to wish the team “Bon Voyage” and good luck in reaching Brugge without getting heatstroke, or too many punctures!
Adding to the excitement, children were treated to a joyful performance by The Flying Seagull Project, bringing laughter and entertainment before the cyclists hit the road.
The entire event has been generously sponsored by Linar, a consulting company that helps professional services firms build effective business services teams, whose Managing Director, Lee Curtis, is among the riders taking part.
