MelaMela is vintage clothing; jewellery and accessories shop for women who want to add some individuality to their wardrobes.
The shop was established by owner Mel, who has always been fascinated with fashion trends, and how simple styles of yesteryear can be integrated with trends of today. They stock clothing, bridal-wear, jewellery, shoes, lingerie, accessories and a small number of children’s items. All items range from the 1890’s through to the 1980’s.
All of their goods are genuinely vintage, unique and great to wear. The stock is constantly changing with different items arriving daily. Each item is an iconic example of the era, and would have been designed and built to last. Your clothing will be a piece of history!
The shop has been designed to look and feel like a modern boutique; the difference is that it is a uniquely vintage shopping experience. All of the staff in the shop are passionate about vintage and will help your find items that truly enhance and reflect your personality.
Items that can be found in the shop include:
- 1950s sundresses and prom dresses
- 1920s and 30s flapper dresses in great condition
- Suits, jackets, shirts, tops, skirts, and dresses of all kinds and all eras, particularly from 1880 to 1980s!
- Beautiful, unusual jewellery, specialising in Art Deco pieces, and with a wide range of lockets, pendants and pearls.
- A beautiful selection of hats from all eras and for all seasons, perfect for the races!
- Elegant vintage handbags, often with those beautiful period details which make them extra special (a mirror here, a comb there…), and some gorgeous vintage shoes.

Mel has been collecting vintage for many years; eventually, her husband joked she should get a shop to put it all in! This joke turned out to be a great idea in disguise. The shop has been running for just over two years and recently celebrated its birthday and the launch of its website, with a champagne party at the shop.
Mela Mela means a number of things in a variety of languages! For example, ‘Apple Apple’ in Italian, ‘Meeting Point’ in Norwegian, ‘Party Party’ in Sanskrit, ‘Love’ in Lord of the Rings Elvish and ‘Booby Booby’ in other languages!
