Swine flu was confirmed at a Hampton school today.
The school on Hanworth Road closed as a precaution on Monday after an 11 year old pupil developed flu-like symptoms after returning from a holiday in New York. The pupil in question is recovering well and the schools website states that:
“The school is required to follow instructions from the Health Protection Agency. The instructions are that the school should remain closed until at lease Monday May 18”
Staff and pupils who develop flu-like symptoms – a temperature, headache, cough and sore throat – should contact their GP or NHS Direct on 0845 4647.
[Update 14th May] Four pupils at the school are now confirmed to have Swine Flu.
[Update 15th May] Now five confirmed cases.
