Police are verbally reminding drivers of the changes this week because changes to existing limits are sometimes missed particularly if drivers are on a regular commute and drive ‘on autopilot’. From next week the police will start issuing tickets to anyone recorded over this new limit.
Royal Parks have set this lower limit in Bushy Park and Greenwich Park to bring it into line with Richmond Park (changed in 2004) and to contribute towards de-urbanising the Park, safety and the protection of wildlife, improving the Park atmosphere and making it a more enjoyable experience for visitors.
Also note that Bushy Park doesn’t allow commercial vehicles to pass through it unless they are connected with a business within the boundary.
Police speed checks last summer.
