High Street Update

The high street will be getting a vets soon. Planning permission has now been approved for this new surgery to move into the charming Geneva Developments space.

Currently this company has surgeries in Surrey and are now opening small-animal clinics in Shepperton and Teddington. They promise to take advantage of all the positive aspects of being part of a large group but retain the personal, caring community-based spirit that inspired owner Ian to become a vet in the first place.

Sammy’s is re-opening as new English American grill & bar 21st October at 5pm. Owners have been touring America to get ideas and inspiration that will bring us authentic American inspired food including fajitas, Texas succulent steaks, juicy ribs and chicken.

A new pizzeria will soon open in place of closed restaurant Noel. Canta Napoli is a small restaurant chain that is opening in new locations across London. They will be serving traditional Neaplolitan pizzas by the metre from their wood-burning stove. They are also currently recruiting – manager, waiting staff, chefs and pizza makers – call 0795 687 9251 if you are interested.

Kindle Stoves and Oakleys furniture shops are now both open for business. As well as dining and bedroom furniture, Oakleys also sell decorative mirrors, lighting, prints, painted art, metal artwork, clocks and other gifts.

Elsewhere plans are underway – a delicatessen will be replacing the empty Petit Auberge. Subject to permission, this will be a licensed farm shop/deli for eating in and take out – for fresh home-made products it will be a great place to pick up treats for Christmas hampers. Also a clothes boutique will soon be in place at one of the high street’s oldest remaining retail buildings – where Net.Com was previously.

Police are currently looking into a prolific act of vandalism along the length of the high street. At least 25 shop windows had graffiti scratched on to them during at around 4am on Wednesday 13th last week. If you can help the police with their investigation then please contact Teddington Police station.
