Send your Christmas tree to a fitting end
From today and throughout January, Christmas trees can be easily recycled free of charge using Richmond Council’s tree collection service.
Any trees left out with your normal recycling will be collected and recycled until January 28th – just ensure that all decorations, stands and pots are removed, the pavement isn’t blocked and most importantly that the trees are real!
Trees will still be collected after this date but will be sent to landfill instead of being composted in windrows.
You can also be drop them off for recycling at Wickes and Squires Garden Centre. Also note that despite being a bank holiday today, collections will take place on their usual day this week.
[Update 2nd February 2011] A huge total of 14,000 trees were recycled from the borough this year.
Please could you collect the Christmas tree from Teddington Baptist Church, Church Road, Teddington. It has been out since about 6 January and has not yet been collected. Thank you very much.
