This year’s Teddington Lights-Up as organised by Teddington Together, together with the Christmas Lantern Procession, as organised by Teddington Business Community, will take place on Thursday 26th November 2015 from 4:00pm (Lights switch on at 6pm) – turning on the switch this year will be the Mayor of Richmond Cllr Martin Seymour, and Harlequins Captain Danny Care.
The Teddington Christmas Lights is an evening packed full of fun for the whole family to enjoy! This year two events run by two different organisations have come together for the first time – the Christmas Lantern procession and Teddington Lights Up – organised by Teddington Together which arranges and pays for the Teddington Christmas lights.
We’ve tried to list all of the activities and events going on during the day – it’s a testament to Teddington that so many great businesses can pull together to put on a show! Our top tip – head down and get stuck in and see what your local community has to offer.
Festivities start from approximately 4pm. The Teddington Christmas Lantern Procession, with lanterns created by local schools and community groups starts at The Causeway led by Santa himself and works his way along Broad Street for carols by candlelit lantern at Teddington Baptist Church.
Here is a map of the events:
The festivities then move towards the High Street with the lights being introduced by Teddington’s own Vicar of Dibley and switched on by Mayor of Richmond Cllr Martin Seymour, and Harlequins Captain Danny Care at 6pm. See the flyer below:
Local businesses will have lots on offer – you can read the full list of businesses and offers here.
And don’t miss Totally Locally #Fiverfest which includes offers from Orange Tree Clinic, Simply Skin UK, Douetil Holistic Therapies, The Fun Factory, KC Pharmacy, The Loft, CORE coaching, Head Kandi, The Card Collection, Cavan Bakery, 1of1 Design, Do Events and Weddings, Sam J Fitness and Suki-Design.
Lots of organisations across Teddington have helped plan and ultimately pay for the events. A big thank you to The Lensbury for their donation to the Teddington Lights Up event. See details of the many contributors to the evenings’ events:
Road closures will be in place throughout the event and buses 281, 285 and R68 will be on diversion during the event – so delays will be likely. Roads and car parks will be closing at different times so check the road closure plan here. Thanks to the WI who are manning closure points and helping motorist around the closures.
Here’s last years’ video to get you in the appetite, see you on Thursday 26th November!
