Local company wins national social work award
Achieving for Children was recognised as Social Work Employer of the Year as they were victorious among competition from national agencies and local authorities to scoop the award.
Owned by Richmond and Kingston council, the company provides children services for both boroughs and was awarded for their work to recruit, support and retain social workers.
The prestigious awards ceremony is one of the leading celebrations of its kind in the social care sector, and is supported by the government. The ceremony recognises the achievements and successes of the profession’s most innovative and dedicated social workers.
Achieving for Children were recognised for their work to encourage innovation and empower staff, building a strong team spirit, invest in staff development, and deliver best practice in recruitment and stabilising the workforce. The judging panel of leading industry figures commented: “There is a clear unity and sense of leadership which really understand who they are and what they want to achieve.”
Cllr Hodgins, Richmond Council Cabinet Member for Children’s Services and Schools, said: “This is fantastic recognition of the outstanding support Achieving for Children offers social workers in both Richmond and Kingston.
“Social work is a very demanding job. Therefore support for staff is essential. The award recognises the quality services provided by Achieving for Children, delivering excellent results for children and families.”
