Teddington schools to receive huge funding cuts
Schools will be subject to funding cuts into six figures in 2019 according to figures from two teaching unions.
St Mary’s and St Peter’s Church of England primary school will receive cuts of almost £140,000 while Collis primary school will receive cuts of almost £220,000.
The National Union of Teachers and the Association of Teachers and Lecturers base their findings on predictions that the Departmetn of Education will receive cuts to their funding of up to £3bn between now and 2020.
According to the union’s analysis, 98 per cent of schools will have a loss in funding for every pupil with secondary school pupils stand to lose £477 a year and primary pupils £339.
The Department of Education disagree with the statistics branding the figures from the unions ‘misleading’ as school funding is ‘at it’s highest’.
