TEDDINGTON TEENAGER SWIMS FOR OLYMPIC PLACE TODAY
Teddington Swimming Club’s Ava Holt will swim in the British Swimming Championships for the first time today at the London Aquatic Centre to stand a chance of qualifying for a place in the Paris Olympics.
Ava, 17, is a pupil at Waldegrave School in Teddington.
“We are delighted that Ava has qualified for the British Swimming Championships,” said a spokesperson.
She will be racing in the 200 metre backstroke event at around midday today (friday) The event can be seen on Channel 4 and BBC iPlayer.
“We are super proud of all your hard work to qualify for this competition for the first time,” said a spokesperson.
In the London Winter Championships Ava recorded a time of 2.20.68 and came third in her 200 metre event.
In 2023 Teddington Swimming Club had 18 swimmers reach British, English or Open Water Nationals.
Teddington Swimming Club is looking for a Level 2 qualified Performance Swimming Coach with a salary of between £28k and £35k depending on experience.
