Amelie’s memorial bench

A public memorial event will be held on Twickenham Gren tomorrow (sunday) to remember Amelie Delagrange who was killed on August 19, 2004.

This special commemoration marks the 20th anniversary of Amelie’s tragic passing and provides an opportunity for the local community to come together in remembrance and solidarity.

The memorial will last for an hour, with speeches, laying of flowers and a choir performance.

Miss Delagrange, a 22-year-old French student, had been living in Twickenham for just three months when she was killed by Levi Bellfield, who is serving a life sentence in jail.

Memorial details:

  • Date: Sunday 18 August 2024
  • Time: 3pm
  • Location: Amelie’s Bench, Twickenham Green, TW2 5AQ

Following the memorial at 4.15pm, we encourage everyone to participate in a bystander training session aimed at equipping residents with the skills to intervene safely and effectively in situations of harassment and violence.

This training is part of our ongoing efforts to combat violence against women and girls in Richmond Borough
