NOMINATE AN UNSUNG LOCAL HERO
The Exchange in Twickenham has opened voting for a local hero to be publicly nominated to appear live on stage at The WOW Show with Women of the World’s founder, CEO and theatre director, Jude Kelly on 10 October 2024.
WOW is embarking on a UK tour this autumn where Jude Kelly will be exploring topics around gender equity, money, sex, race, food and ageing in an evening of lively conversation featuring personal anecdotes, special guests, performers and local guests.
The Exchange is one of the five UK venues to be part of the tour and the search is on to find an unsung local hero to appear as part of
the show.
Jude Kelly commented: “We want to hear about people who are doing amazing things to support women, girls and non-binary people.
“It could be that they work for an outstanding local charity or are an unsung hero in the community. Maybe they are the coach of the local girls’ football team or run a small business changing the lives of others.
“Whatever it is, we want to hear about them and tell their story as part of the tour.”
Becky Shaw, The Exchange’s Programming & Partnerships Manager commented: “We’re thrilled to have Jude back at The Exchange and that the WOW show will be a platform to champion someone in our community whose work deserves a moment in the spotlight and to bring it to wider attention.”
Nominees must have a connection to the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. To be eligible, the nominee must be over the age of 18, be UK based and live, work or be from the local area.
The winners will be celebrated on stage to appear as part of The WOW Show with Jude Kelly and receive two complimentary tickets to the event.
Full details about the show, how to submit nominations and terms and conditions can be found here.
