TEDDINGTON HUMANITARIAN TEAM CLOCK UP ONE HUNDRED VEHICLES FOR UKRAINE

Mighty Convoy, the Teddington-based not-for-profit organisation that delivers humanitarian aid to Ukraine, is sending its 100th vehicle to the war-torn country today (wed)
The organisation’s supporters raise money to purchase ambulances and pick-up trucks which are filled with medical supplies and other humanitarian aid – including clothes, food, and school supplies – and driven to Ukraine.
Their dawn departure from Cambridge Road, Teddington to drive 1200 miles to Lviv in north-west Ukraine marks their TWENTY FOURTH mission since the conflict started.
Volunteers fundraise to cover the cost of purchasing the vehicles and transporting them to Ukraine – with many choosing to drive themselves.
Aid and donations are provided within the UK by a wide range of charity partners, including Goods for Good, the County Food Trust, and Bio&Me.
Founded in 2022 by Simon Brake and Gavin Emsden, the group has so far organised 23 convoys, supplying 99 vehicles and around 60 tonnes of vital aid to Ukraine, working in partnership with on-the-ground organisations including the Christian Medical Association of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Ground Forces’ First Medical Battalion.
Simon said: “Grassroots organisations like Mighty Convoy are playing a critical role in supporting Ukraine, delivering 40% of the humanitarian aid reaching the country. Every vehicle and every shipment makes a tangible difference to those on the front line and in affected communities.”
A representative from the Christian Medical Association of Ukraine said: “We are deeply grateful to Mighty Convoy and its volunteers for their continued support. The vehicles and humanitarian aid they deliver are making a real difference on the ground, helping medical teams reach those in need and supporting communities affected by the war.”
