Learn to Row
Learn to Row with Teddington’s Skiff Club
The Skiff Club invites you to enjoy learning to row in traditional boats from their club in Trowlock Way, Teddington.
Skiffs are stable, making basic skills easy to learn, leading to good exercise and opportunities to race in local events on the Thames under the Skiff Racing Association.
Regular club activities include rowing outings throughout the week and at weekends (often including a pub or cafe stop) in addition to an ongoing coaching and training program. The friendly bar is open on Thursdays for well-earned refreshment.
For the more adventurous the Skiff Club organises expeditions to other waterways in the UK and abroad. This year’s tours include 4 days on the River Wey, 2 days to Chertsey and back, skiffing at the Vogalonga festival in Venice and a 3 day row upstream for Henley Regatta.
Beginners courses start on Saturday 3 May and will run weekly for 4 lessons. Each lesson will last 1.5 hours and the whole course costs just £60. The club also offers trial outings if the full beginners course doesn’t suit. Its a great way to enjoy the river, learn a skill, get some exercise and meet new friends.
