Marianne’s story:
Marianne lives in a rural village in Malawi. She is a widow with 7 children to look after and used to walk 10km every day to the nearest town to sell firewood to just feed her family.
However today, thanks to a loan, training and support from MicroLoan, Marianne was able to start her own business. She now runs a tea shop in the village. The increase in household income means her children are well fed and healthy, and can all go to school.
