A name-the-flags competition has been created to help locals celebrate the Olympics and attract more people to the high street. To enter this, either pick up a printed form from La Casa Del Habano (76 High Street) or download this from and either print & return or complete it using Excel and email it back (instructions contained in file).
Aside from the first and last representing the start/end of the Olympic flame journey, the 93 flags themselves are in alphabetical order (by street number) but 3 or 4 late-comers are not – just to make it a bit more difficult! Not all teams represented at the Olympics have flags on the High Street.
Prizes will be awarded for the most correct answers from each age group: 3-11yrs, 12-18yrs and 18+ so be sure to answer this question.
Local businesses have kindly donated prizes, currently:
La Casa Del Habano – LED Torch
Kings Head – dinner for two with glass of wine each
Shambles – brunch for four
Vinery – breakfast or Lunch for family
Dexters – bottle of Champagne
Nova Fortuny – ladies Scarf
Studio 148 – cufflinks
Nichols – jewellery
LS Hair – voucher
Also prizes from Mercado, Teddington Arms, Kirby’s Chemist, The Fun Factory, Toni & Guy, Elements & mini-me
…with more on the way!
Hand in your answers by closing time on Saturday 8th September 2012 and a live prize draw will be held after the Paralympic closing ceremony (venue TBC). The flags were organised by Bhavna at Casa Del Habano cigar shop, supplied by John at The Fun Factory and installed by Danny the electrician who also installs the flag poles and Xmas trees (firstname.lastname@example.org).
