Christmas Lights Up 2014

EventsThis year’s Lights-Up event will take place this Thursday 27th November 2014 – turning on the switch this year will Chris Jarvis – actor, CBeebies presenter and panto star, gearing up for Snow White at Richmond Theatre with Jerry Hall.

Festivities will be kicking off earlier this year, roads will be closed for longer and there are two lighting-up ceremonies and trees! As the High Street will be closed to traffic from 6:30-10pm, access will also be restricted in adjoining side-roads. See here for a full list of road closure times (R68, 281 and 285 buses on diversion during this time).

Timetable of events:

4-6:15pm Broad Street/Church Road events
4pm Xmas stalls open in Cedar Road car park
4pm Pony/(reindeer!) rides start in Kings Head car park
4:30pm Seasonal Stories for 3 to 8 year olds in Teddington Library
5:45pm Broad Street Xmas tree switch on with Collis School Choir
6:30-10pm High Street closed
7pm Elmfield Gardens: Christmas Carols with Landmark Choir and Lights Switch On with Mayor and Chris Jarvis

Decembeard (Cedar Road car park) – learn all about the World-wide beardy-campaign (HQ in Teddington). Decembeard flavoured cakes with proceeds donated to Beating Bowel Cancer.
Dexters – snow machine, guess the house price – win a champagne and wine hamper, colouring competition – win a sweetie hamper.
Diners Delight – mezes and Turkish sausage.
Divine at No.12 (Cedar Road car park) – flowers, wreaths, nic-nacs and kids tombola prizes.

A huge THANK YOU to organisers Teddington Together for the enormous amount of effort it took to put this all together and organise donations from local businesses to raise the money needed for the new lights this year as well as their installation. Also to the many generous local sponsors and volunteers, marshals including Women’s Institute members and litterpickers.
