1. Your Boiler Is Way Above Its Shelf Life

The average life of a normal boiler is anywhere between 8 to 10 years. If your boiler is more than 10 years old, then you might want to get it checked for maintenance. If your 10-year-old boiler has no physical damage or leaks, then you can use it further, but only for about 2 years or so. But, if your boiler is holding on to its last strings, then it is a good idea to get it replaced. Old boilers are not as efficient as new ones, and they just don’t work the same after 10 to 12 years. So, getting your gas central heating boiler for a new one is the way to go.

2. Your Boiler Was Bought Used

Not going to lie, used boilers work just as great as brand new boilers and they cost a fraction of the price as well. But sometimes, used boilers might get worn out, so they require heavy duty maintenance. A tip to remember here is to always buy a used boiler, if it is in good condition, only then you will be able to use it further down the road. But, getting a used boiler with a lot of flaws, will do you more bad than good. Its maintenance cost is a lot, and in the end, you might just have to get a new one.

3. Increased Energy Bills

This is a clear red flag. If you find your boiler losing its efficiency and at the same time, your energy bills are increasing than the ordinary, then you might want to get your boiler checked. Sometimes, when a boiler gets old, it will start misbehaving and uses more electricity or energy to operate. This will result in an increase of energy bills. So, the next time you see a higher energy bill than usual, it’s time to check out combi boiler prices for a newer and better boiler.

4. The Boiler Breaks or Shuts Down

If you find that your boiler is constantly shutting down at random times, then this is not something you should leave unnoticed. When a boiler is old and too much load is put on it, it will heat up from the inside and, eventually, break down. Another reason why boilers keep shutting off is because of low pressure in the boiler, leaks and internal damage. Getting your boiler replaced at this point will be beneficial for you.
