One-Off Giant Unicorn Up For Auction In Teddington
A giant unicorn has gone for sale at an auction house in Teddington.
The mythical creature is set to be bought in time for Christmas.
The statement object was created by an artist as a piece of modern taxidermy. It’s mounted on a metal plate and marble plinths.
It’s 8ft tall with real white horsehair, a horn and detachable swan-feather wings.
The unicorn has been on display in a coffee shop in South West London, however it is now set to go to auction at Hansons London on December 12th.
It is expected to sell for £10,000-£15,000.
Jonathan Newey, of Hansons London said:
“We uncovered this magnificent artistic creation in South West London and it’s certainly a first for us. We have never sold a giant unicorn before. The creature is a symbol of rarity and it’s certainly a rarity for us. It would make a fantastic statement piece in a home with room to display it or, as it was used before, in a business premises.”
