TEDDINGTON’S PARK LANE STABLES RECEIVE PLANNING GO AHEAD

Park Lane Stables, Teddington, has finally received planning permission to move forward with the upgrade of their original ‘home’ in Teddington.

The extensive plans will include much-improved accommodation for the horses and owner Natalie O’Rourke is hoping the stables will return home from their temporary home at Manor Farm, Ham, by the end of this year.

Natalie spearheaded a £1million fund-raising campaign to help save the stables from closure and planning applications were originally submitted in November 2022.

The refurb plans will include a ‘wall of bricks’ celebrating the names of the generous donors who contributed to the crowdfunding campaign.

Development will also include the conversion of the original two bedroomed flat to accommodate a counselling room, a reception area and a stable for a ‘Cuddle horse’ where youngsters can get close to the horse.

Formal permission was granted by Richmond Council earlier this week. The architect is Teddington-based Sam Kamleh and the process of tendering builders will begin soon.

Founder Natalie said: “We finally have planning permission! Sam the Architect can now finalise her drawings and we can properly tender builders. Working out the timeline, but there should be horses back in Teddington around the turn of the year! I’m finally beginning to imagine being back home!”
