TED LASSO – SERIES FOUR CONFIRMED!

See the Official confirmation from Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso) here in his own words:
Jason Sudeikis, the American creator and star of the award-winning Apple TV+ series, TED LASSO, filmed in and around Richmond and other parts of south west London, has confirmed for the first time that a new fourth series is in the pipeline.
His comments in a New Heights podcast in the US bring an end to months of speculation from fans and the cast of Ted Lasso as to whether a new series would ever be made and whether filming will centre upon Richmond and its familiar pub and The Green locations.
Much of the filming was done at the West London Film Studios in Hayes, which is almost opposite Hayes and Yeading Football Club where many of the football scenes were done.
The area has featured significantly in the three previous series and brought a massive economic boom to Richmond with thousands of visitors from all over the world visiting the various locations like the pub, The Prince’s Head and Paved Court. Even guided walks to the famous locations are available as well as a official merchandise shop.
Council Leader, Cllr. Gareth Roberts told Teddington Town: “Like so many people I’m beyond thrilled that Ted Lasso will be coming back for a fourth series. And, of course, I very much hope that Richmond will feature as prominently as it has done over the last few years. It’s time to ‘Believe’ again!”
Sudeikis, who plays the fictional football coach of ADFC Richmond also revealed the plot. “Ted’s coaching a women’s team, so there, that’s it.”
The storyline will also have a dramatic impact on the global growth of women’s football where England’s Lionesses were runners up in the World Cup in 2023.
Late last year confirmation came that THREE of the British stars of the first three series, Hannah Waddingham who played club owner Rebecca Welton, Brett Goldstein, who played tough guy footballer Roya Kent and Jeremy Swift, who played club administrator Leslie Higgins, had been secured by Warner Bros for a possible fourth series.
The series has been credited for its uplifting and inspirational writing as well as insightful humour in the wake of the COVID epidemic and won many awards since launch. Coach Lasso pinned a BELIEVE sign over the dressing room door.

On the announcement of season 4, Sudeikis said: “As we all continue to live in a world where so many factors have conditioned us to ‘look before we leap’, in season 4, the folks at AFC Richmond learn to LEAP BEFORE THEY LOOK, discovering that wherever they land, it’s exactly where they’re meant to be.”
Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+, said: “Ted Lasso has been nothing short of a juggernaut, inspiring a passionate fan base all over the world, and delivering endless joy and laughter, all while spreading kindness, compassion and unwavering belief.
“Everyone at Apple is thrilled to be continuing our collaboration with Jason and the brilliant creative minds behind this show.”
In November, Nick Mohammed, who played coach Nathan Shelley and lives near Richmond, revealed that he knew of “rumblings” of a fourth season and admitted that “all of us have been chatting” in an issue of Radio Times magazine. Hannah Waddingham has also revealed she’d love to be back on board.
Nathan said: “I think it all depends on what Jason Sudeikis wants to do. Everyone has said if there’s an idea that feels good, we would be all up for it. I would personally go back in a heartbeat!”
For season 4, it’s been confirmed that Sudeikis will not only star but also executive produce alongside Brendan Hunt, Joe Kelly, Jane Becker, Jamie Lee and Bill Wrubel while Brett Goldstein continues to serve as writer and executive producer.
